Progress: Before & After ("the app") is a photo progress-tracking app for Android, published by Hugo Software. The app is designed to work offline and to keep your photos on your device. We collect no personal data.

Your photos stay on your device

Every photo you take or import is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. Progress has no account system, no sign-up and no server of its own. We never receive, upload, back up, or look at your photos.

We are aware that people use this app to photograph their own body. That is precisely why the app is built with no server: there is nowhere for those photos to go.

Your photos leave your device only if you deliberately export a timelapse or an image and share it yourself through Android's share sheet. In that case you choose the destination, and that destination's own privacy policy applies.

Project information

Project names, categories, dates, streaks, your language choice and your subscription status are stored in local storage on your device only. None of it is transmitted to us.

Camera

The camera permission is used only while the capture screen is open, to show the live viewfinder and to take a photo that you explicitly trigger. The camera stream stops when you leave that screen or send the app to the background. Nothing is recorded in the background and nothing is streamed anywhere.

No advertising, no analytics

Progress contains no advertising SDK of any kind. No advertising ID is read or processed. It also contains no third-party analytics and no crash-reporting SDK. There is no tracking and no profiling.

Network activity

The app makes only two kinds of outbound request:

1. A periodic fetch of a small configuration file (feature settings such as free-tier limits). It contains no personal data, and no data about you is sent with it.
2. Google Play Billing traffic, handled by Google Play services on your device, to check your subscription status.

Subscriptions and payment

Progress Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details, card number or billing address. Your subscription status is read from Google Play on your device; we keep no purchase records on any server.

Children

Progress is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it: delete individual photos or whole projects inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything. We hold no copy anywhere, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. See the data removal page for details.

Note that uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel in Google Play > Subscriptions.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data about you at all, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase — your data is already entirely in your own hands.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
